About Aether Scuba

Aether was once believed to be the fifth of the naturally occurring elements. It was said to be the element that held the stars and planets in place. It is the ethereal, other-world feeling that I associate with the optimal dive experience.

When you as a diver are most comfortable with your mind, body, gear and your diving skills so that diving is a natural activity, you are able to experience the underwater environment as if you were a heavenly body surrounded by the aether. It is a truly blissful feeling where all your land-bound problems drift away. I strive to impart the skills that will help you experience this feeling that I believe is like no other, along the way making you a proficient and confident diver.

About the Instructor

Since I can remember, I have always been drawn to the underwater world. Even when in the swimming pool as a kid, I spent more time at the bottom of the pool than anywhere else; checking out the drains, watching the bubbles as they collected and morphed under ladder steps, or hovering under a pool float pretending it was a boat.

It wasn't until college that I was able to begin my SCUBA journey. Completing my Open Water SCUBA certification as a college credit over the period of a semester really helped to create a very solid understanding of dive theory and application. However, being a college student did not allow me to put my skills to use and it was a substantial period of time before I was able to once again strap on a SCUBA tank.

I was finally able to get back into the water while on a trip to Cancun where, after doing a cenote dive & a Bull Shark dive, my passion for diving was re-ignited. So began further training and diving that would extend around the world, from kelp forests off the coast of California to WW2 wrecks in Malta and the frigid, crystal-clear waters of Iceland.

In 2018 I began working on dive boats as a first mate and a commercial spearfisher. This has exposed me to many different diving experiences from which I have further developed my skills as a diver.  From diving wrecks, hunting fish and lobster, collecting fossils, search and recovery and photography, I have enjoyed many underwater activities. But my favorite moments are the peace and serenity I only find beneath the waves.
